  • This month at FL1

    23rd June 2009 in General, Seminars, fl1

There have been quite a few developments in the internet world, and quite a few developments within FL1.

To check out the latest developments on the web and in FL1, follow us on twitter at twitter.com/fl1group.

Firstly, we’ve just started developing an application for the iPhone which is quite different from our usual line of work, but an exciting new technology. Watch this space!

We’ve also recently developed an entirely new version of our evolution e-commerce and Content Management software which is aimed at making smaller websites even easier to maintain. It’s currently in beta, but is set to make management of websites we build even quicker and easier.

Over the past few months, we’ve mentioned a few blogs that we’ve helped get going, so here’s a great example for you to check out: http://www.trainingu.co.uk/blog/

So what about the Blogs, Pods and Wikis?
Back when we started these seminars, we wrote the initial material and thought our work was done. If only!

In reality, things move so fast that 40% of the material has to be updated before each seminar
just to keep up with the speed of change.
18 months ago, Second Life looked set to stir things up in the world of commerce, but then came Twitter. Word of Mouse, came, clicked, dragged but then dropped, blogging continues to increase in popularity,
Plaxo, Ning, Xing and naymz move in to the arena.

As I speak, we currently have 3 places left on our Search Engine Optimisation seminar on Friday 26th June.
We’re also working on a completely new Social Media seminar for September, so watch this space!

so what have the team been up to?

Yoana’s re-joining us part time to help out the .NET team, Jason’s been trying to work on his “office tan”, Neal’s off to Glastenbury, Ali’s off to Ikea, and Jason M is off to make a cup of tea.

    See you next month!
