It sounds obvious, but so often we speak to people who assume they’re going to build the biggest website possible, they’re going to rank number 1 in Google the next day and it’s going to magically transform their business. The reality is often a different thing unless this question is thought through and applied carefully.
Some reasons you may want to consider are:
• To generate sales leads
• To boost my business’ credibility
• To allow people to find my business online
• To sell my products and service to generate additional revenue
• To provide an up to date information source for existing contacts and customers

The festive season is upon is and exciting times are here!
Only 2 more voting days in the FL1 Group Website of year competition.
We could tell you who’s in the lead….but that would be telling wouldn’t it!
So far, over 200 people have voted and received their Free Virtual Goody bag.
The Virtual Goody bag contains special offers and promotions from over 20 businesses around Hertfordshire including Wharton Goldsmith the Jewellers, The Digital Frame Company, St Albans Office Space and Printing.com.
The winners will be announced at 7.30 pm on Monday 14th December at The Buon Amici, St Albans at the St Albans Networking Co-operative Christmas event.
On a slightly sadder note, our longest standing employee Jason Margolin leaves us at the end of the year to head to the big city. Jason’s been an instrumental part of the team for 3 years and will be sadly missed.
He never was much good at washing up, but all the same we wish him the best of luck in his new role.
Finally, we had a great time at Blogs, Pods and Wikis with our brand new Seminar series.
There are also brand new Mastering Google AdWords and SEO, and Online PR and Social Media seminars in January.

Only 10 days to go until we announce the winners of the FL1 Group Website of the Year Awards 2009!
It’s been a fantastic experiment, and yes it was an experiment!
The idea was to give the clients and businesses we’ve worked with over the past year some free exposure and show case our work a little at the same time.
Has it worked?
We’ve already heard from some of our partners that they’ve picked up business and we’ve had over 200 people vote, 60% of them are businesses we’ve not been involved with to date.
So far, it’s been a lot of fun and seems to have created a lot of interest, so was it a worthwhile experiment? Yes, we think so!
So, what happens next?
The winners will be announced at 7.30 pm on Monday 14th December at The Buon Amici, St Albans at the St Albans Networking Co-operative Christmas event.
So far there around 40 people attending, and with Christmas around the corner and such a fabulous venue, it promises to be a great night!

This month, we’ve had not one, but two new designers join us!
Alex joins us this week to work with Ali for this month before Ali sadly leaves us to work in satellite TV next month. Faisal has also joined the team to help out as things are busier than ever!
Both Alex and Faisal are excellent web and graphic designers with serious creative flair, so why not try them out?
We’ve also changed our phone number from 0845 890 2992 to 01727 739812!
The big news this month though, is our very first FL1 Group Website of the year awards for 2009!
